Home Tweet Home…

Hello,  I’m a little later than I wanted to be finishing this card, but if I weren’t that would be the surprise.  LOL.  I have friends that are working on a new home and I want to give them a card congratulating them for getting it and all the hard work they're doing before hand.  I can't believe I actually have something done before I need it!

Some of you may recognize this as an image by Mo Manning.   I love her images because there is so much personality in each one she does.

Here’s a close up of the image, which I’ve colored with Prismacolor pencils.  The sign and the birds have been colored twice and then pop-dotted to give them depth.  Most of the things I have used are by Recollections.  I’ve cut the card, the sentiment, and frames with my Cricut. The image itself was cut with Spellbinders. The large flower was in a prize, so I'm not sure who made it.  And the leaf swirl is by Cheery Lynn Designs.

Surprisingly the only place that I used designer paper is the circle under the sentiments, and it is glittered.  I believe it’s K and Company.

These are the challenges I’m entering:

Mo’s Digital Challenge – celebration
Paper Play Challenges – punches or dies
Crafts 4 Eternity – leaves, birds, glitter
Totally Gorjuss – not square
CES Challenges – 4 or more embellishments
The Crafty Pad – diamonds
Corrosive Challenges – dies/punches
Die Cut Dreams – flowers (5++)
Kaboodle Doodles – layers
Paper Playtime – easel card
Stamp With Fun – anything
Scrap-Creations – anything
Sundays With Crissy – friendship
Ooh La La Creations – punches/dies
The Paper Shelter - anything

I hope you all enjoy looking at my card and if you leave me a comment, it makes me happy.

Down By The Old Mill Stream

Isn’t that a cool name for this image?  I don’t think I could have come up with anything any better.  It’s time for a new challenge over at DDSC.  This week it is autumn colors.  Which shouldn’t be too difficult for anyone here in the northern hemisphere.

Sadly I have to announce that this is my last challenge with the DDSC team.  I’m stepping down because of several health issues.  And I had to let something go.  I’m really going to miss it because because these are a fantastic group of very talented ladies and you couldn’t work with a greater team.  Also the images by Judy and Mom are top notch.

On the front of this card I’ve use an embossing plate by Cheery Lynn Designs with the leaves.  The die punch is by MS and one I’ve had for several years, but never had the  need to use it.  The stickers are brads are by various artists.  And of course, I’ve used my nestibilities.

I’m entering this in the following challenges:
Mark’s Finest Papers – use a punch
Crazy 4 Challenges – orange, olive, yellow, brown
Secret Challenge – song ( Down By the Old Mill Stream}
Sketch Saturday – sketch
Totally Gorjuss – for a man

Pile It On – layers

Simon Says Stamps Challenges - song - (Down By The Old Mill Stream)

I hope you’ve enjoyed my work, and don’t forget to go by and check out what the rest of team have done.  They should inspire you joining in.

I Need My Mummy…

I felt the title of Mo’s image was as good of a name for my post as any other I might choose.  I think he is so adorable.  He reminds me of a little boy on a show I used to watch eons ago (Family Affair). It was about a bachelor who had to take in his nieces and nephew after the death of their parents; the youngest were twins and the little boy’s name was Jody.  He was a little redhead and his facial expression looks so similar to this little guy.

My grandson loves dinosaurs and I thought of him when I bought these papers.  Somewhere I’ve hidden some some of my “little boy” decorations, so I had to make my own.  I fussy cut two of the dinosaurs and pop-dotted one on the other.

On the Inside I decided to fussy cut a couple more of the dinosaurs to decorate the pages.

I’m entering this in the following challenges:

My Mum’s Craft Shop Challenges – layers
Mo’s Digital Challenge – boy attitude
Do You Stack Up – texture
Card Makin’ Mamas – digi

You’re Sew Nice…

It’s time for another week at DDSC.  This week our challenge is: Circles.  Now that’s not too difficult.  I chose to cut my image out with a scalloped circle die, then used a dark shadow for it, and finally a doily.  So, just that easily I have three circles on my card.  I’ve taken a peek at the DT’s cards and being that they are so very talented, you will love their cards, so be sure to stop by and check them out.

I had this plan to go way out and scan several sewing items for my background paper, but I got lazy (lol) and just decided to use some lovely argyle embossed card stock instead.

I’ve colored the image with Prismacolor pencils, added a few buttons, a bow and did a little faux stitching.  I cut through the back of the card and pulled some blue ribbon out and let it come down the front of the basket, just wish I’d let it go a little further now.

I’m entering this in the following challenges:

Crafts 4 Eternity – sketch
Stamp Something – digi
One Stitch at a Time - digi
Pile It On – starts with a “b” – button
Daisy Doodle Creative Challenges – anything
My Craft Spot – friends

Crafts and Me Challenges – buttons & bows
Flutterby Wednesdays – butterfly
My Mum’s Craft Shop Challenges – layers

Don’t forget to stop by the Shop and check out the beautiful images.  There’s a great sale going on this month.

Thanks again for stopping by, and I look forward to hearing your comments.

Just For You…

Isn’t she adorable?  Her name is Nelly, by Mo Manning, of course.  I had a couple of cards that I had to finish this week before I could to get to the card that I wanted to do for the challenge this week at Mo’s.  I really wanted to try for the last GD position.  I’m doubtful, but if I don’t try, I’ll never know.  Hopefully I’ll be much earlier with next week’s challenge.

I’ve colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  I’ve used a couple of die cuts from Cheery Lynn Designs, and I think the leaf cut is from Sizzix.  The flowers and pearls are from my stash.

To a Special Couple…

I imagine the title gives it away that this is for a very good friend and her husband.  It’s Stacey’s anniversary and as usual I’m late getting the card to her. She likes purples, so I decided to go with that color scheme.  Lili of the Valley is one of my favorite stamp company’s, and I love using their images for special cards..

Their challenge this week is a sketch  and I’’m following it and adding a little extra bling to it. You will notice several dies on the card this week.  All of them are by Cheery Lynn Designs  The ones on the inside are new and I just had to try them.  I didn’t know how in the world that corner die would work, since it was so large, but I think it’s beautiful.  I have another beauty coming up soon that is just as beautiful.  (These were all a gift to me by a very special lady.)

Stacey also loves lace and bling, so hopefully there is enough bling.  I added the charm, after painting it with fingernail polish.

My personal message went in this top frame.  Isn’t that die cut beautiful?

But this corner frame is what I think is just gorgeous.  When I first saw it, I just couldn’t imagine how it would work on a card, that is, until I saw an example of it.  I added pearls to jazz it up (as if it needed it).

I’m entering this in the following challenges:

Crafty Creations – 3 dies or more
Flutterby Wednesdays – butterfly & celebration
My Mum’s Craft Shop Challenges – 1/2/3, 1 image, 2 different types jewels, 3 flowers

I Know Something You Don’t Know…

At least that’s what I think she’s saying. I just love the expression on her face, don’t you?

It’s time for the new challenge over at DDSC this week.  This week the recipe is “Fantasy”. I think it’s a bit of a fantasy to think of a ladybug this large laughing at you.  You can find her here at the Shop.  You don’t have to use an image from DDSC, but if you do, you get two entries for that image.

The flourish and dragonfly are by Cheery Lynn.  (The dragonfly is two pieces; I cut the top out of velum and colored the underside with glitter pens, and the veins black; then I used Glossy Accents on top, which made it  look shiny.)

The papers are DCWV, the flowers by Recollections and the die is Spellbinders.  The buttons are from my stash.   The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  The colors are a little more intense than they look here.

I’m entering this in the following challenges:

One Stop Craft Challenge – anything but square
Stamps R Us Challenges – anything
Daisy Doodles – anything
The Sisterhood of Crafters – flowers
Die Cuttin’ Diva's – fall colors
Digital Tuesday Challenge – bug
Party Time Tuesdays – anything
The Paper Shelter – anything
My Mum’s Craft Shop Challenges – 1/2/3, 1 – image, 2 dp’s, 3 roses
Hooked On Craft Challenges - things with wings
Totally Gorjuss - anything
Art Impressions Stamps - dots
Craft Us Crazy - autumn colors and/or favorite embellishment
Do You Stack Up - friendly critters

Don’t forget to stop by and see what the rest of the DT has done.  They are some awesome ladies, and their cards are fantastic.  We all love to hear your comments.

DDSC has a DT call and if you’re interested in working with a great group of ladies check here for more information.
